Italian game

This is another old opening used in chess. It is also a good offensive opening. It is fair to say that the Italian defense and the Spanish defensewere discovered during the same period given that they bear similar tactics when in play. The Italian defense is just the same with the Spanish defense, except that instead of moving the King’s Bishop to b5, the Bishop is moved to c4. It is only a matter of what works best for you and what strategies you wish to deploy.

French defense

This opening is popular among Black players. While this opening gives ushers White players to make some more strategic tinkering, it also gives leeway for the White player into taking control of the center. An e4 opening by White is countered by moving Black’s Pawn to e6. White also advances its Pawn to d4. In this case, Black moves its Pawn to d5. White will now have to be watchful of its next move.
